This page explains how to permanently delete your vecindad account and the data that goes with it. The vecindad app is made by Vecindad, Inc.
the fastest way: in the app
Open vecindad → Settings → "delete account."
You will confirm twice, then deletion starts immediately and you are signed out. No email or waiting required.
no access to the app?
If you have deleted the app or can no longer sign in, request deletion by email and we will handle it for you:
Include the email address or phone number on your account so we can find it. We may need to verify your identity before deleting. We respond within legally required timeframes, typically well within 30 to 45 days.
what gets deleted
- Your account and profile (name, photo, city, about text)
- Your asks, responses, saves, and photos you uploaded
- Your trust-circle connections and blocks
- Your device's push notification registration
Deletion starts immediately. Copies in encrypted backups are purged on a rolling basis, so all data is removed within about 30 days.
what we may keep, and why
As described in our Privacy Policy, we may retain limited records where the law requires it or to prevent fraud and abuse, for example a record that a deletion was completed. We may also keep de-identified, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you.
