Our commitment
vecindad is a trust-based local recommendations app made by Vecindad, Inc. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and we are committed to keeping vecindad free of it. This page sets out our standards, how we handle child sexual abuse material (CSAM), how anyone can report a concern, and how to reach our child safety point of contact.
These standards apply to the vecindad app and to Vecindad, Inc. They are part of our broader rules and work alongside our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Privacy Policy.
1. vecindad is for adults
vecindad is an adults-only service. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use vecindad. Minors are not permitted on the platform. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register, and we take steps to restrict known minors at the app-store level.
The presence or absence of minors does not change our commitment: we prohibit CSAE on vecindad regardless, and we act on it wherever we find it.
2. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)
CSAE means any content or behavior that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. This includes, for example, grooming a child for sexual exploitation, sextorting a child, trafficking a child for sex, or otherwise sexually exploiting a child.
CSAE is strictly prohibited on vecindad. No member may use vecindad to create, upload, post, share, store, request, facilitate, or link to any CSAE content or activity. Any account involved in CSAE will be removed, and we will preserve and report information as required by law.
3. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
CSAM is any visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, including photos, videos, and computer-generated or AI-generated imagery. CSAM is illegal and is absolutely prohibited on vecindad.
When we obtain actual knowledge of apparent CSAM on vecindad, we act in accordance with our standards and applicable law. This means we will, as appropriate:
- remove the content;
- suspend or permanently remove the account or accounts involved, and where appropriate prevent re-registration;
- preserve relevant content and account information as required by law; and
- report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement.
4. How to report a child safety concern
If you encounter content or behavior on vecindad that may involve CSAE or any threat to a child, report it to us right away. You can:
- Report in the app. Use the in-app report control on the relevant content or profile, and use the in-app block control to stop interacting with a member. These mechanisms are available without leaving the app.
- Email us. Write to legal@askvecindad.com with as much detail as you can so we can investigate.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, and you may also report directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org.
5. How we respond
We review child safety reports as a priority. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, suspend or remove accounts, restrict features, preserve information, and report to NCMEC and law enforcement as required by law. We act in accordance with the standards on this page and with applicable child safety laws.
6. Compliance with child safety laws
Vecindad, Inc. complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where we operate, including laws governing the reporting and handling of CSAM. Our standards are informed by widely recognized industry practices for combating online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

8. Changes to these standards
vecindad is early and still being built, so these standards will evolve as the product does. When we make material changes, we will post the updated standards and update the "Last updated" date above.
